Custom developed Web Applications:
Hlalani IQ
A construction project management solution. It was designed to assist an engineering firm that wanted a more streamlined way to manage project and financial data than just excel spreadsheets. Instead of developing it as an in-house system only, we designed it as a whole new product offering, allowing them to enter the Software as a Service business. Soon after launch we added an additional module to handle custom designed surveys, allowing municipal officials to use the system for rectification audits and consolidated reporting on municipal properties. The system is currently in use in Knysna and Mossel Bay for managing the production of RDP houses.
IMESA Conference
We developed a bespoke conferencing solution for the Institution of Municipal Engineering of South Africa. The system caters for Delegate and Exhibitor management as well as invoicing and a range of comprehensive reports. The key functionality however was catering for the engineers CPD points, by using a QR code on all the delegates’ name tags in conjunction with an iOS and Android app used to scan them when entering the venue. This allowed us to automate and more accurately report on attendance of the accredited talks.
LiLiBo Tablet Survey
An iOS and Android tablet based survey solution designed for auditing government housing. Our team got involved post launch, enhanced functionality and provided technical support.
Debt Wise Solutions
A turn key solution for Debt Counsellors and Payment Distribution Agencies. We took over development after they launched their MVP. We re-architected and optimised the solution, migrated the desktop payment processing to the web environment and integrated it with the counsellor facing front end, automated bank statement processing and payment allocations. We were the dev team from 2008 until 2012. Through various interventions, in our consulting capacity, we helped the company save in excess of 1 million ZAR in recurring annual costs while improving efficiency.
Government Employees Medical Scheme
We built an internal use data search and retrieval engine for the Government Employees Medical Scheme. This project involved configuration of virtual server infrastructure as well as custom coding of the application used by call centre agents.
Learner’s Licence SA
We developed the assessment software and assisted designing the business model. The test system interface was designed to be touch screen friendly and includes a user manageable library of question and test sets. Once a user completes and submits a test the system automatically marks the answers and provides the user with their results.
Safe Tech
We developed a needs calculator in the form of a mobile friendly one page app used to help potential clients determine the number of safety representatives they would need to comply with health and safety regulations based on their specific business’ situation, locations and staff compliment.

We assisted on various projects including; scoping an internal use health and safety system, performing a site audit and interviewing key staff in order to draft and submit a Departmental ICT infrastructure review to the Group IT Manager, and drafted a project brief for a handheld timber logging solution.

We conducted a workshop on Social Media and Organic Web Strategy and assisted the company in drafting a scope document for their web presence. We sourced a service provider to implement the project, saving them money through the process, while delivering a more comprehensive solution than the previous provider.

We were brought in to provide strategic consulting and perspective after the project dragged on for months longer than planned without seeing desired results. We liaised with the existing team of external resources, refocused the priority list and helped get the project to point of launch.
